Try to update NodeJS from v6 to v8 in CentOS with yum. However, yum always installed v6 for me. Found the solution from https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/261950/why-wont-the-correct-new-version-of-node-js-install-on-centos-7 Solution: I run "curl --silent --location https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup_6.x | bash -". But i find the latest version is 8. So, I run "curl --silent --location https://rpm.nodesource.com/setup_8.x | bash -". But only 6.x raise when i run "yum install nodejs". run "yum clean all; rm -f /etc/yum.repos.d/nodesource*" fix it.
